Our Team
The Nova Scotia Alcohol Policy Coalition (NSAPC) originated out of similarly minded Nova Scotians working in alcohol policy and harm reduction spaces. In June 2021 the Nova Scotia Health – Mental Health & Addictions – Health Promotion team hosted the first annual Alcohol Policy Forum that brought together people keen to engage on local alcohol policy issues.
Following the forum, a group of people began meeting regularly to continue the discussion from what they were seeing in their work and lives. Soon the group realized that there was a need to translate discussion into action. Out of this energy toward action, the Coalition officially formed in September 2021, and named its first Co-Chairs in December 2021.
